PRODUCT FREEZER STORAGE Express Foods fresh and frozen meats and seafood products should be placed in the refrigerator or freezer upon purchase or delivery. Most of our products are individually vacuum-sealed and flash frozen when fresh to capture natural juices and flavor. We recommend keeping your freezer at O° F or below and following these storing guidelines.
* Up to 3 months: crab cakes, crab legs, scallops, soups, shrimp, smoked salmon * Up to 6 months: pork products, stuffed chicken breasts, lobster tails, fish * Up to 9 months: stuffed beef, chicken breasts, meatballs * Up to 12 months: beef steaks, pre-cooked ribs, bacon, lump crab meat
THAWING Express Foods frozen products should always be thawed on a covered dish in the refrigerator outside of the vacuum-sealed package unless otherwise directed. This is the safest way to thaw food, and it allows the product to retain all of its natural juices, which are essential for exceptional flavor. Do not defrost meats and seafood in the microwave or in hot water. These methods of thawing start the cooking process which in turn effects taste, texture and inhibits bacteria growth.
